i just thought it was wierd when i have a 98 i30 and i put a 95 i30 ecu in and i don't have a cel. There was a cel when i first put the 95 ecu in but then after a while the light went off. The light still works and i checked for codes with a scan tool and nothing came up. The o2 sensors were reading fine too. Strange

 

kinda off topic but how does the scan tool work and how much is it ?

 

now you can get an ecu upgrade (if that was your goal with the swap)

 

the scan tool hooks up into the car and basically scans the computer for codes. the computer is already upgraded just waiting for the extended rev.
