Front Control Arm Bushings

Well, first on the list of to-do's is replacing my lower control arm bushings. The bushing on my driver side seems to be shot, and is making a creek, or clunking noise during slow turns / bumps. I saw the post from MZMTG about his control arm nearly falling off, so of course I am hesitant to jump into replacing the bushings without some research. Any info / pics regarding bushing replacements would really be appreciated. I checked out ES's web site and saw a brief write-up about using a torch to seperate the bushing and pressing it out. Any other experiences or easier ways? RZ

Easier more expensive way is to buy a new control arm, they run about $140 shipped.

Another way is to take off your control arm, buy bushings and take it to a shop where they can press them in for you.

For $140, it might just be worth it for the new control arm. My only decision would have to be, wether I should buy the new control arm and keep the factory bushing that comes with the new arm, or keep the old control arm, and replace the bushings with ES bushings. I would much rather tighten up the steering, but don't want to start a project, or order parts that I can't end up using.

Is there an expected amount of time one should get out of control arm bushings? I wonder if mine need replacement...

Clunking when exiting a turn at part-full throttle.
