stock stereo problems...help

I hve a 97 SE with the stock bose stero system. I noticed the other day, after i was driving for about 2 hours, that my CD started to skip. It had already played through fine the 1st time, but then for some reason started to skip. I know its not the CD cuz i tried several cds...they seem to skip after they are played through once. I would also get the problem that when they start to skip, the stero would come up with "error" on the head unit and not play the cd at all. I tried several cds (not burned), and it refused to play the cds. It kept saying "error" and turning off the stero. Anyone hav this problem or know what to do about it?

a lot of us have this problem, some have used CD Cleaner and fixed the solution, some have did the soldering trick some got success some lost the whole radio completely, some purchased newer bose units off members or ebay, other got aftermarket units, and the rest of us have to be a b!tch to the radio and listen to what ever is one, and they never happen to play what you want to hear, just have to suck it up and listen and enjoy cause everytimg you try to play a CD just hoping the max will show you some love and stop messing around with you and play the CD for you, it still give the CD Err spits out the Cd and you have to tragecally go back to the radio that doesnt seem to hold your interest in the first place, so you listen the sweet music of each gear revving to 3K then shifting. . .

I miss my CD player
