Hey, just got my CF

I need to drill nozzles in it, and im going with hood pins to be safe.

Is it better to drill from the top of the hood down, or from the underside out?
Also, sound I start with a small hole, and gradually get larger?

What are my options with the hood pin positioning?

Last question...
Do you leave them on in the winter?
I really want to install mine, but I dont know if I should or not?

 

When drilling the for the pins, I installed the pins on the cars radiator support, and marked the tips of the pins with paint, then slowly lowered the hood so that the pins would leave a paint mark on the underside of the hood.
I put painters tape on top of the hood where I would be drilling to help keep it from splintering and what not.
I then drilled a small pilot hole from the underside. After that, I continued to move up a bit at a time drilling slowly from the top untill I had the desired size.
Drilling for the nozzles I would assume to be similiar. Mine were predrilled. Although I did use a dremel to open them up a bit to accept the OEM pieces.
As far as winters go, I cannot really comment on that. I live in Texas. Our winters are mild.
Just put plenty of wax on it to help protect it I guess. Im not sure how it would do with ice though.

should be safe, assuming its a good grade hood, with decent amounts of clear coat with uv protection, shoud be fine, would be a big inconvience if you had to take off your hood and put stock on during the winter, but Good question.

 

I have had no problems with mine this winter.
