get rid of dash trim kit

Whats the best way to get rid of a dash trim kit? My max already had one on it when i bought it and its this ugly fake looking light wood color. I have the aluminum kit already. Do i just scrape it out with a flat head or is there something easier...........peace out

It will be kind of rough to get most it scraped off with a screwdriver. You might wana try to find a salvaged Max in a junkyard to see if those dash pieces are good.

i took off my old dash kit to put on a new one.....i never got all of the old gunk off. It would take you a long *** time and it is pretty much impossible to take off all of that glue, i tried everything including alcohol and nail polish remover.

Heat gun will also do really well. Like eclypsecl said. Use in conjunction with Goo Gone. It comes with the liquid and a scraping tool.

to take off the factory wood i used a blow dryer. i was puttin a new kit over the black panneling and not painting it or anythin so i didnt worry about scratching it or anything. if you want to take it off w/ no marks underneath i would be very carefull. use a blowdryer or heat gun. then maybe a flathead or somethin. maybe fishing line would work like shaving a car. to get the rest of the glue off heat it up and try usin ur hand and use alcohol or sometin and wipe it a lot to get the rest off.

This stuff works really well when removing adhesive residue, better then goo gone, goof off etc....

Ive used this stuff many times to get rid of decal residue and it simply wipes off leaving no type of traces.

That's not right; factory wood is plastic itself.
