anyone take off splash guards for winter? also thinking of removing rear sway bar

one would think they'd keep crap off the sides of the car, but i've found that during the winter and snow season, it gets dirty all over no matter what. in addition to the sides getting dirty anyways, the splash guards seem to build up snow which later rubs against the wheels when it piles in there so i have to later kick it out. i'm thinking of taking them off just for the winter but not sure if i should bother. my body colored splash guards look hot, but really only work for mud puddles and rain and light snow.

anyone else take them off for winter?

also thinking of removing my rear sway bar. i don't drive my car that hard so i barely notice it, and i figure if i don't notice it, then it's just added weight and something i could sell to help me afford books for my last semester in school! any thoughts? i know what daveb would say!

I actually just put them on. They don't keep the crap off as well as I would have liked, but it's definitely better than without them.

They certainly do more than not having them. You don't have to kick the buildup off. The tire will knock it off if its in the way.

thanks for the offer man but i definately still want them. plus, they're painted pearl white so they wouldn't match your car.

i guess i'm just sick of the snow piling up behind them lately.

my damn car is still covered in the kind of snow we get around here lately. dirty a$s slush that freezes instantly and leaves my car filthy.

I have never driven in snow with the RSB. I'd say it can make things hairy at times. But really you shouldn't be pushing it that hard with minimal traction.

The front guards do keep spray off the sides. I'm getting various cool spray patterns on my doors. I think the wheelwell buildup is roughly equal with/without the guards. I repaired my fenderwell liner but never got a chance to put the splashguards back on before the snow.

Oh, definately remove the rear bar. Not only for easier handling but to keep it in better condition and make it last longer.

Yea without the guards it just bulds up underneath the car and in the wheel well and you gotta kick it off anyway.
