Clutch Pedal not always fully engaging..Hydraulic help needed please..
Alright, A while back I had some issues with my throw out bearing going to hell on my Exedy Stage 1 Clutch kit. I was troubleshooting back then and tried adjusting the Clutch Master Cylinder.. I then had a leak in my hydraulic line and the clutch pedal has been acting up since then. I replaced the line with a SS one, and I am still having trouble. The trouble is that I will be just driving and my clutch pedal will keep getting different points of enagement/disengagement, sometimes (like tonight) to the point where the clutch pedal is rock hard at the top and will not fully engage. I can floor it and it will slip. Then I will keep driving and it will then start engaging like it should, low on the pedal. I dont understand why it keeps doing this, but it is pretty consistent. The hyraulic reservoir has come down a little bit since the SS line went out but has now stayed the same for a week or so. I might need to get the bubbles out of the line still?
I am thinking that it is either I need to bleed the clutch better or that I need to re-adjust the Master Cylinder back again (after I found out my throw out bearing was shot I did not adjust it back). Please leave me your input, it is greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
-Nick

Sorry can't really offer any help other than to make sure you know there are two spots to bleed the clutch - one on the slave cylinder and one on the drivers-side strut tower. FYI, I've been adjusted mine for a while now too, no leaks, just crazy engagement at times. Good luck.

under your dash, there is a bolt you have to un tightned, and then rotate that rod behind the cluch pedal that goes into the floor board, clock wise to move engagment closer to the floor and counter clock wise to move engagement away from the floor.
Why would I want to replace my master cylinder and Slave? My slave is new, but I see no need to replace the MC? Yeah that is what I am going to try MDeezy, I will try to re-adjust it back. Any one else have any ideas.

I went out to adjust the M.C and it was all the way turned clockwise, I adjust it a little counter-clockwise. It feels a little better but I stad had a little issue of high pedal effort. It didnt get as bad as before, but I only went for a 10 min drive. Any one have any input on aproximately how far the MC should be adjusted counter-clockwise, from being fully turned clockwise? I went back about 1 turn counter-clockwise and dont know how far I should keep going...Any input?

Hey Nick,
You're adjusting what I have. Mine is roughly in the middle of threads w/ engagement about 1/3 up. I'm fairly happy. However, depending on clutch disk material left, pressure plate stiffness, etc. I don't know that you can judge by someone elses setting.

My clutch is fairly new ~10,000 miles. Do you still have any problems with fluctuating engaments points? You said before you were and then you adjusted the MC, so are you still having them symptoms?

My issue seems to be resolved now. Just make sure that the fluid level stays full before and after adjusting so you don't have to bleed it anymore. I had similar problems in my last Max - I installed an ACT hdmII modified street clutch and that thing was a pain to adjust due to the pressure plate's characteristics. It finally seemed to work properly - I guess to use/wear??
