left strut CREEKS really loud

today i noticed when pulling out of my driveway in the morning my left strut was creeking really bad, over ne bump you hear a creeking nasty a$$ noise. i have a kyb gr2. and its about 3 weeks old. could this nosie be from the cold? it seems as the more i drove on it the less it was but i didnt drive on it for long. I heard this nosie 2 days ago after bleeding my clutch. then it went away foor the whole day and now its back.. is it the strut? how can i tell if its blown? could it be my axle? i was also thinking my messed up wheel bearing could be catching up 2 me but thats on the right side...

It's probably your control arm or sway bar bushings.

I have some clunking noise going on in my front end too. I had the car up on a lift last night, but cant see anything drastically out of the ordinary. I am more than likely going to take it to Nissan, so they can diagnose what's wrong with it, and then do the work myself, so I dont end up getting raped on parts and labor. It might be worth it just to spend the couple of dollars and have a Nissan dealer take a look at it. No sense in replacing something that isnt broke.

Could it be related to the huge curb or whatnot you rammed into that you mentioned in 15 other related threads?

sometimes when youre turning hard going slow you hear that cracking noise going with the rotation of your tires, coz maybe ur CV joints r gone. that happened to me once but not on a maxima. bearings actualy fell out everywhere when i tried to pull out and i couldnt drive ^^. apperently its supposed to take a while to actualy break from when you notice any noise, but i broke it pretty quick. imagine if you are driving at speed and this happens

Man your car seems to be giving you a lot of trouble lately, I hope it gets fixed, I know its too cold to up there to jack up and look at yourself, if this is the case then I agree with Zeus take it to nissan they usually dont charge much (usally ) to check out whats wrong, if its something simple leave with the car and fix yourself, if not then still leave and shop a shop that will do it cheap.

creaking sounds more like strut mount/bearing especially if you hear a pop or ping from your front end every once in a while....

when you buy new mounts...do you need to buy new strut bearings as well?

just creaking is typically a bushing in the control arm or even the front sway bar endlinks...if you get it when going over full travel bumps/dips like going up driveways and such, it probably the ball joints, those can get ripped and dirt and other junk can get in there and the ball joint is no longer protected...
