cf because the wood grain in our cars do not look high quality, and makes the interior of my family's 97 GLE look cheaper than my black/tan interior in my 96 SE

I had wood grain

After a few years in the sun the stuff looks really bad, not worth it to me. The plastic seperates from the wood and becomes all discolored. I like the CB look better but I dont know how it holds up either.

You should have added another item on the poll called "neither" or "other" because other interior colors just don't look good with CF. Wood is kinda played out, CF is not far behind. Just my 2¢.

for neither.

I have to agree, they are both played out, but in reguards to the poll, cf > wood. As said above, I think my stock interior looks better.

I have a beige GXE with tan interior. I am going to switch from black console to wood grain because I think it looks better. The wood grain compliments the tan interior and vice-versa. The wood grain console I found in a car at a local junk yard also offers the small drawer instead of the open storage space.

If anyone has ever added a Bose AM/FM/CD/Cassette from another Maxima to replace their stock AM/FM/cassette then please let me know whether you had to also pull an amp and the bose speakers. Where is the amp located?

Thanks.

The wood grain looks would look better as stated if it was better quality, low quality wood grain can look even worse. CF I like CF accessories but on the dash or anywhere in the car, I've yet to see it look good be it in a Max or a ferrari.

CF or Wood grain

You gonna get the Black/Chrome Levoc Shifter/Ebrake ***** to match or what?

My opinion --> wood was boring, cf is ugly, aluminum doesnt work with tan, and chrome is down right disgusting

I decided to be different and gave black marble a shot. Mabye I'll take a pic tommarow after I get done shoveling the snow off my car.

I think that if you had carbon fiber hood or trunk, the cf interior wouldnt look bad. Because it kind of matches, you know what I mean.

That's nice too. The color & pattern reminds me of a Range Rover-ish type.

Mine looks like Xugg's, but on Black and I love it. Soon as I get a Digital Cam I need to take pics cuz I'm gettin a Cefiro Woodgrain Wheel, all Woodgrain Door Handle Housings and all Woodgrain Door Cups along with a Rear Woodgrain Ash Tray and hopefully Door Trim Accents to put the Cherry on top.

PS: nadir_s clear out your PM Box LMAO. Anyway, what I wanted to ask is how'd you get the phone charger to stand up like that and how hard was it to hardwire? I'd love to do this mod.

that's an old nokia kit that i bought when i had a 5000 series. There's a handset inside the center armrest and also a 2nd antenna mounted at the top inside corner of the winshield.

The base itself is being held up by a gooseneck... you should look for that.

actually, just last night, I was introduced to www.panavise.com ... they have the same flex mounts and phone holders specifically built for the maxima 4th gens.

now i'm for the woodgrain, but i don't like it all over my entire dash....so i have limited it to around the shifter and bose HU, i think it looks much cleaner and you don't even notice it when you first get in the car

i'll have pics, once my picture host quits messing up

What happened to the photos? I'm curious to see how the tan int. matches with marble.

crappy CF kit

I've had a really cheap imitation CF kit for the past 4 years, but it has held up well (3M tape). It doesn't look the greatest, but it's somewhat sportier looking than plain black.

I'd go for a real CF kit, but been too lazy to remove this imitation one.

Sorry this is the only pic I can find that i've uploaded online.

Am i the only one that thinks stock looks the best??

The maxima dash is so nice , why would you want to put tha tstuff and make it look lumpy and the edges dont realy match up.

Real wood trim like on bimmers and jag's looks nice.

i say leave it alone

Good point about the edges and fit after the trimmings are installed. I'm actually thinking of taking the stockers out and paint matching it to my car. But that'll be a project that I have to plan for.

Yea if you have black interior, but if your like some of the unlucky max owners with tan interior a dash kit is necessary.

why'd you sell the 5 series?

For you Maxima guys with Factory Woodgrain. Real Woodgrain to finish your dash, not 3M Tape.

Hey,

I like that shifter and ebrake handles. Where'd you get them? They available in any other colors?

Also, did you get your CF from here?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33705

Why is it so cheap compared to the Wood Grain ones?

Thanks,
Horace

The shifter and handle are both Levoc. The handle is a flimsy stick on piece that goes right over the existing ebrake, and you might be able to get it from customenterprise. The CF kit was from ebay, long before that guy was selling his though. I'm guessing that they are the same kit; it's a pretty darn cheap kit.
