Broken Stud?

I was changing my brake pads the other day and i got around to the last wheel and of course, the last lug, and i just kept spinning and would not back out, it wouldnt free spin, it took some effort to get it to move.
does anyone have a suggestion on what could be up?
if i have to drill the thing out, i guess i'll take it to the shop, but thats my last choice.

you probably just stripped the end of stud. If thats the case you probably just have to replace it. They are like $.50 at your local AutoZone.

so replacing it is just a matter of banging out the old one and bangin in the new one as easy as that?

I have a stripped stud, and I just left it thus far and made sure other were torqued down good, didnt know i could get a stud that cheap and just hammer out and hammer in.

Any more info on how to do, or just as easy, take off wheel and such, bang out old with hammer, bang in new one?

what you need to do is use a comprssor nut remover, the type that the tire places have to keep on doing it until it breaks. then you just tap it out with hammer and tap new one in. i had a shop do it for me. it costs $4.00 for stem and lugnut and $5.00 to put it in at a local shop
