I have an auto, 98 GXE with 118k miles on it. I get a hard shift out of first into second. All other gears are smooth. I checked out another thread that addressed this and took their advice and replaced the dropping resistor. I still get the hard shift out of first.

Any idea on what else it could be? Any advice on a course of action? And the dreaded question, should I be preparing for my tranny to die soon? Thanks.
