basically u can do it with the taillight attached to the housing but off the car or seperate the plastic from the housing and just tape it off on the bottom, and use ur finger to make the crease, and use a razor to remove excess tape then put 3 coats of whatever color u want on it with the fusion plastic spray paint, then 3 coats clear, let dry peel and enjoy!!

i doubt u can see the light at all, that is why i will re route the turn signal to be on the bottom with the brake light, just some wire changing, it will be parking light and turn signal on the outsides and parking light and brake light in the middle, no mo reverse

I'm willing to bet that the tail lights will look shorter because the paint on the top portion of the tails will blend with the trunk and fender of the car. But should be interesting to see a pic anyway. BTW, on the first photo, it looked like you broke off the top (clear) lense from the housing? Why and was this even necessary? The outcome in the photos remind me of the same process used to red-out the tails.

You should have expected it all man! When you open yourself to everyone's opinion, expect the subtle and the not so subtle responses. I was right when I said that the tails look shorter. Worse of all, the color doesn't even blend in well. Now I know that there's something worse than orange, YOURS! Sorry but that's constructive criticism.
As for other alternatives for the 95/96 tails, go here. I hope what you just did to your tails are reversible.

I think, like stated b4, that it would look much better on a white car..... and I am not knocking your efforts.... but maybe you should try going to a hobby shop (or where ever you can get it for tail lights)and try and see if they have a tint spray the color of yo ride..... then apply some coats of that. - I seen a guy with a honda at a car show I went to last year do it to his tails.... and it was hot.... and depending on how much you put - your lights may still work.... but again just my .02
