I don't really know that much about CF hoods. How much do they weigh in comparason to the stock steel hood?
What happens to a CF hood in a collision? Does it just crack and splinter?
Can a CF hood be painted body color?
Just curious.

I would seriously hope so, whats the point of a color hood if it doesnt match your paint, would look very taky to have your car crimzon red then have that hood with that candy red looking CF hood.

I think the point is to get it to flow a bit better and to break away from the traditional CF color. CF doesnt match the vehicle to begin with. Having an off colr would look strange at first, but once yu walked up to it and saw that it was a colored CF it would change the way you feel about it.
I get crap like that all the time, people always ask me why I dont paint my kit. I tell them its carbon fiber and they then compliment me on its looks.
I seriously dont think they could match every cars color thatss on the road today, but they may. If they did, Icouldsee that costingquitea bit.
Traditional CF color doesnt match any black paint that I have seen on a stock car, but it still looks good. Like Flav said its just to make it flow better. I think the white hood on a white car would look hot even if it was not an exact paint match.

yea your right, and the only cars that have matching Carbon fiber parts with the body are ferraris and porshces, and aston martins which for that money the CF better match the color of the car.
I guess as long as you can see that weave of carbon Fiber when you get somewhat close it would be all good. I used not like the look of a CF hood on a black max, but its grown on me, and now i'm trying to get one.
good find and i dont mean to rain on ur find parade by any means..but the same company that did the group deal a little while ago(the one with the blue max with the carbon fiber hood as their pic) could also do this for like $50 more.(or so said there ebay add)

I agree, I like the lightweight idea but would love to retain body color. Just my tastes, I guess.
