I've read threads where peoples slave goes, some and they replaced just the slave and everything was ok.

I think you got ripped off buying one used for $70. Not to mention it'll probably go dead in couple of years if you're lucky. Unless you don't mind tackling reoccurring problems with the car - which you apparently don't .
You couldve went to pinnaclenissan.com and got it for $40.00...
For advice ... don't spill the brake fluid

I dunno maybe because Im a mechanic and know what im talking about...
Most likely, he is going to get air in the line, and be posting back that his clutch wont apply/release.
Also, when the old one goes, pieces of the line go and little particles stay suspended in the fluid that can cause all kinds of problems.
But I didnt read that it was a used one, so that sucks.... He will just end up changing both of them later down the line, this isnt the end of his problem

I disagree. j/k. I replaced both also. Mostly because my oem MC had over 100k and I thought that was enough. Plus it has to help push my ACT pp down. Plus when I did the slave, I didn't want to hassle with bleeding the stupid line again. They aren't that expensive so why not?

nothing against you but not all mechanics no what their talking about, too much proof on that one.

Well when you just payed 20,000 dollars at the best training facility and are currently in a specialized transmission course dealing with such an easy question, its hard to be wrong (im sorry that you go to idiot mechanics, but thats not my problem, maybe you should find a new shop)
Its not like im telling him what gear ratios would be the best for his application, which i could... but this is a simple procedure that isnt rocket science, when one goes, your replace the other (i explained why above)...... So fine, dont take my advice and end up spending thrice the amount in the long run, because i dont know what im talking about, people who dont even know how to change one do......

wow having a bad day? people just asking why? I asked why cause I like to know reasoning behind it have a logical reason as to why its best to change both rather than "I dunno cause I'm a mechanic and I know what I'm talking about" yea that would make me quickly order new parts.
we just wanted to know why and I'm sure you have read many threads where people were told by mechanics to do something that isnt related to the current problem.
Damn some people are so sensitive

Oblongshapes, I guess they already taught you the mechanics creed of if it aint broke replace it anyway rule. This is where mechanics make most of their money. I believe he is right about getting your master done too. My slave went on my old car and a year later I went back to the shop and they said both needed to be replaced.
It seems like the more things I try to fix on my car the more things break so I put all repairs to the side and haven't had any new problems.

exit10,
No one hates on you..but everypost you make yourself look stupid...you don't even know what the master cylinder looks like, yet you say you've bleed before...how is that possible?

yea thats what i was thinkin, that the part i filled up was the master cylinder. no body should get upset for me not knowing what it looks like. this whole thing of tuning up a car is a learning process and ppl on the org can get a little to upset over me just learning. its not like im asking the same question 3 times in a row
