After a long wait, since August 23rd, I finally get the Chariot here to New Zealand. Yesterday which was Feb 2nd, I was honored to help push my maxima up the driveway to our house ?



To keep it short, I shipped the car from Houston to New Zealand, which took one hail of a long time. Some of you guys know how it is to love the maxima and spend every dime you have on the car. Well, what was once a beauty is now a messed up, beat up max !

The main disappointments: body damage, and stolen parts !

To keep it short again, on the way over the injen intake was stolen, maf sensor, shifter ****, front strut bar, and the freaking battery out of my remote ? I guess the battery was the only comic relief out of the whole ordeal ?

That sucks. Well at least you have your ride now.

You have any way to recoup the losses?

Post a few pics (full body) of your new ride. Aside from the damage it looks like it might be nice looking.

Sorry to hear about your car. I hope you are getting some money for it and for the emotional trauma it caused. I have friends that have had cars shipped all over and nothing like this ever happened. Looks like someone was joyriding it.

It really chokes me up when crap like this happens, I mean you spend YOUR hard earned money on parts and some fool come along and decides that it should be his. Hopefully the shipping company is willing to replace the parts that were stolen/broken.

well the good thing is that they didnt take high priced items like your techno ecu or doors,or engine even,etc... but man i feel for ya homie. do they have stores where you can get the stuff back that you need over there?or do you have to get them shipped?i can see your face when you first saw it and uhhh

Someone had to be real poor to steal your battery to the remote.

 

They just did that to seal up their insanity plea at the trial.

 

dang ceasar! i just talk to you a little while ago about the chariot! That really bites the people dont have enough respect for themselves or your car to just steal that stuff. Are you going to take it up with the shipping company? Thats just messed up. makes me mad thinking about it!

 

Seems pretty cut and dried what the shipping company is obligated to do...
I just hope they are quick about replacing what was stolen and dont drag it out.

 

In my experience, shipping damage claims with ocean freight companies take FOR - EV - ER....

 

Yep, something like three to six months. Your refund will be on the slow boat from China.

That is terrible to hear, I hope everything gets settled and you get money to restore you car back to perfect.

Kick up a fuss yell at some people and threatn to sue cause this shouldnt happen, and I assume you had to have to car towed off the boat, cause you cant drive with no intake on it.


Now I know if I ship my car, man I'm sleeping in that B!tch the whole way, have the microvision screen in there, ps2, some movies and food.

dang ceasar you know i can relate to having our cars violated. man i could of saved you some time and money i have a lot of juice in the shipping industry but thats beside the point. sorry to hear about your loss but im sure you will get the charriot back on the road soon, good luck.

That sucks, someone has to be liable for that. I'm sure they can even figuer out who did it based on who works there. I just wonder how corrupt the whole company might be if they can let someone do that to you're ride

check the mileage on your car, does it look waaaaaay off.

the stuff can be replaced, i know it sux but it isnt as bad as it coulda been, they coulda took some more expensive stuff like the ecu, and u have headers right?

i feel for ya big time cause the chariot is actually one of my fav maxes. but all of that cvan be replaced within a month. ;-)

 

as everyone else says. good luck. your ride is so tight. hope whoever did it falls in a ditch with a horny buttraping beast. man whenever i ahve the urge to hate on my maxi, i always have a clip of yours with headers. always brings the feeling back. that and pics of arrafio's. Pray for the best.

What shipping company did you use? I am going to europe for a few years and i am thinking about taking my max with me.

 

Who cares how long it takes as long as he gets it. Sorry to hear that. It's a sad day when someone steals the battery.

 

Holy crap...I hear a lot of bad stories about shipping cars. Seems like they always arrived damaged.

Honestly, you have got to be able to get some restitution from this.

 

1) why was the car shipped to NZ
2) was the car insured against any of these damages/stolen parts?
3) what actions have you taken?

so sorry to hear such a nice max (specially since it was completly repainted last year) be trashed like this. people need to respect other people's property.

That sucks. How could they cause that much body damage just shipping it? You should try to get as much money out of those people as possible

Doesnt need to be. It is "reasonable and accepted" that if someone agrees to take possession of your car/property, that it is their responsibility what happens in transit. It is also "reasonable" for one to assume they will receive their property back in the same condition it was when you left it.

Also, if you can prove it was the shipping companies employees that were the "perps" then the company is "automatically liable" which if memory serves me, there isnt even a trial.

Not a law student, but I know a 'lil bit.

 

out of curisosity when shipping a car, can you travel on the boat? or you just meet them at the destination?

 

Did you see how long it took to get it there? Would you be willing to sacrafice that amount of time from your everyday life to stand next to the car?
