Fogs/96 GLE

Rumor has it that maybe the GLE is already wired for fogs. Is this true? My new 96 bumper for my old GLE with fog cut outs came in today. All I need are the fogs and brackets. Why are they so $$$$$ ? I also bought a stalk with the fog switch from a 97 Maxima. Will that work ok?

Thanks,

Ron

I'm not sure if they came wired ready for fogs but theyre so expensive b/c the 95 & 96 maxima's fog lights came only with the car from the factory. So no aftermarket manufacturers. The +97 maximas have aftermarket 3rd party manufacturers, so MUCH cheaper price. The plastic fog light case is about $100 per case from dealer. I duno how much the actual frame that the case goes into is. I know it gets pricey though, hope this helps a bit.

Alright Ron, to answer your question about the wires being there for GLE, yes they will be there, if you have a 97 stalk no that is not going to work on your 96 harness, I can promise you that right now it wont work, might as well sell that stalk and pick up a 95-96 one.

actually it's good. if the original owner didn't want to bother paying extra for foglights, but someone down the line wants to add them, they're able to without having to do any wiring because the fogs are just plug and play. i'd rather be wired for options than not just in case i wanted to add it later.
