help needed!! maxima 96 cigarette lighter not working

Hi guys,
cigarette lighter is not working fuses seems to be ok, dont know where else to check and what else needed. I wanted to use my cell phone charger and its not working when I insert into my cars cig lighter. But I checked the same charger in another car and it works. your help is highly appriciated in this regard.

Have you checked behind the cig? if you taken the dash apart lately maybe you forgot to plug it back in, I've done it before.

that could be the solution.

cig lighter not working

Thanks for your suggestion. Yes, I checked the back of the cig also and the connectors are connected well. Is there any other place or any thing else you suggest to check, please.

not to sound stupid but did you try the cig lighter when the car was on?

Sometimes the socket itsself goes out (I've been through several in several different cars). Check the wires that plug in to it. If you get 12v through the red one, your socket is bad. They can be bought at Auto Zone, etc. Just make sure you get the right one for your car. If you can't find one, you'll just have to get a little creative making a generic type one work with spliced wires.

mine doesnt work lol but thats because at one time i lost the plug that covers it and so i painted the silver inside flat black hehehe then i found the cover
