Spilled fruit punch on carpet...best carpet cleaner?
So I spilled fruit punch Gatorade on my carpet and now I'm trying to sell my car and was wondering what the most effective cleaner to clean the stains would be. I've tried some cleaners but to no avail. Also, is there some technique that I should use to remove the stains?
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Is it a red stain? They have something for that...
check the detailing forum or www.autopia.com forums

The best carpet cleaner is carwash.....! Make a bucket of the carwash, a get a scrub brush. Dip the brush in the bucket, and immediately scrub the carpet. Repeat a few times to get all dirt and stains out, and to get it nice and wet, but not too wet. then get all the water up with a wet/dry vac. And if you use the Meguires deep crystal carwash, your car will smell really fresh afterwards because its scented.
good luck man... I had a bottle of fruit punch spill on a road trip in my back seat and it was a few days before it was found. ( i wasn't driving my car once we arived) and now my carpet is tinted pink. Unfortunately its on the actual carpet and not just the mat but you cant see it unless you pick the mat up. either way it blows. I tried everything but that **** is damn near imposible to get out.

If you're selling it, just get some carpet paint or spray paint the color of your carpet and spray over the stain. That way they won't notice the stain at all.
If you have access to a "little green clean machine" from bissell, that worked great on my rugs. I remember reading a post in the detailing section regarding cleaning your interior. there was a bunch of info in there. From now on, no more fruit punch in the car!
For most red stains, you need a special red dye stain remover. Consumer grade stain removers are not very effective on removing red dyes. I believe the one I've read great reviews about on www.autopia.org is called "Red Out" or something like that. Try a search on there for "Red Out" or for user Anthony Orosco, as he's a pro who did a write-up on it.

My mother taught me a foolproof method. Use plain old Windex on spills. Spray it on, leave for a few seconds, get a paper towel, dab the paper towel on the area & don't rub. Windex has just the right about of ammonia in it to remove spaghetti sauce stains from carpets, red wine from white couches etc, etc. I swear buy it and it doesn't discolor the carpet or leave any residual blue if its blue Windex you are using.
