Clutch Noise

Hey guys, Im new to the forum but not to nissan. Anyhow, lately ive been getting this really bad grinding noise when i engage the clutch (its new by the way), even in neutral. sounds almost like a baseball card in a bicycle tire. i was wondering if anyone else has ever experienced this before?
thanks

was the reason why you replaced the clutch because you where hearing some nosie and it didnt go away? have you release bearing and trans checked out. hopefully its nothing in the trans, like syncros or bearings. good luck

no, it was just time to change the clutch. it sounds almost like there is no lubrication somewhere. i was thinking it might be a tranny/clutch bearing because it makes the noise if the car is in neutral and i take my foot off the clutch. thanks again guys.

hey guys, i found the culprit. the throw out bearing is bad. $600 in labor for a $30 part. if anyone knows of a place in the houston area that would give a better price please pass the info. thanks

To change the TO bearing you have to pull the tranny. It is basically the sam job as replacing the clutch, so if your clutch isnt relatively new it might be worth replacing that at the same time.

Maybe you can find s/o on the org that would do it for you for cheaper. To pull the tranny for someone who knows how to do it shouldn't take that long.

Too bad you're so far away from brooklyn. I would do it for you for much less.
