Is It The Clutch?

hey its chris, i am about to make a 4000 mile road trip in a couple weeks from tampa, fl to tacoma/seattle, wa going from I-10 all the way across and I-5 all the way up. anyways, my clutch when i put it in like 1st or 2nd gear, it hops once or twice and sometimes when i get to 3K rpms it will slow down until i hit the gas hard and then will pick up. is it the clutch or have i messed something up? could it just be that i need to flush the tranny fluid because the car sat for a year when i was in iraq? give me some pointers of what i need to do or if you know what it could be.
thanks,
chris

Does NOT sound like a clutch issue. I would reccommend cleaning out the throttle body and doing a swap on tranny fluid and change your regular oil if you are preparing to drive 4000 mi. Double check your brake fluid / clutch fluid / power steering juice...etc......

Also, check your ECU for codes (FAQ'S) Could be an infamous knock sensor issue.

when my clutch was on its way out, it bogged for me at 3000 RPM, it would go up and down then eventually accelerate, i thought it was the plugs. then i thought i twas the intake cone being dirty. then i swapped out the coil packs. then it wound up being the clutch. im still not that clear on his symptoms.
