HELP! highbeam indicator stays on no matter what

I have a strong feeling this is a relay related issue. My highbeam indicator stays on now no matter what (regardless of stalk setting and whether or not the car is on/off). Now it is quite a task to even get the headlights to work (I have to flip the headlight stalk on/off, high/low before I can get only 1 headlamp to work). I looked at fuses #53 and #54 and they are fine. Can anyone prescribe a cure?

Thanks

hmm, that usually happens when your headlight bulbs stop working, its possible your bulbs have run out of life.

Check Pin 1 of bothe headlights with ground and see if there is a short...

If there is a short on the LEFT headlight and not the right headlight, there's a bad ground...

Which headlight comes on?

Im thinking there is definitely a short. I installed HID's and used the low-beam power and ground wires to connect directly to the hid ballast. The highbeam power wire was simply terminated with a piece of electrical tape. I am thinking water might have got in and caused a short circuit?

The left side headlight comes on only.

Yup - driver side and passenger side is easier to explain. Most people use left and right to describe the side of the car from the perspective of the driver - so left is driver side.

OK I went through all the wiring/bulbs and nothing seems to be wrong. I even switched the ballasts and everything, checked the fuses and the highbeam light still remains on. The only time it comes off is if I remove the fuse for the drivers side headlight. Does anyone know if this can be due to a faulty switch?

someone in the for sale section is selling a light stalk for like $10 shipped, look into that, as well as a relay.

so you have hids? did you rewire them to a larger gauge? if so check the wiring one more time.
