I bought an oil pressure gauge, but where can i mount the sensor onto the engine?

So did that thread into an existing hole, or did you have to drill and tap one?

He had to have made that hole because when i was down there there was no open holes just threaded ones that were sealed. Used for bolting on brackets.

Of course they'd have to be sealed, but it just looked like there is a hole to the left of the oil line, so I was wondering if he was able to use an existing hole by unplugging it and threading in the oil line fitting.

Well yeah it is not just open, I meant sealed behind the bolt that he had to remove. Mine has a bracket there.

by the way that is his oil line to the right of the open threads (the one he tapped) in the pic, he removed the bracket that i was talking about and used one of the holes.

So what happens when you disconnect that? Do you get a check engine light? Or do you have to hook them up in a series?

Right above the oil pan, you can see in the pics that he made a tee for the stock oil presure switch and the gauge oil pressure canister. Then there was a Stainless Steel line which runs into where the oil pressure switch was.

You will need 1/8" BSPT to 1/8" NPT adaptor for the engine block. I heard earlier 4th gen have a different thread. You can the adaptor from Autometer. The brass T is a 3 way 1/8" NPT you can get at Home Depot. I tried to use an aftermarket oil pressure switch in place of the OEM (picture 1) The reason because the aftermarket is a 1/8" NPT and it would be a perfect fit into the brass T. It didn't work because the aftermarket switch triggers at a higher pressure than the OEM. I would get the oil pressure light when the car was idling. I put the OEM oil pressure switch which was 1/8" BSPT into the brass 1/8" NPT tee. I bottom it out and there was no leak.

Here's the final installation pic with the OEM oil pressure switch on the right side and Autometer oil pressure sender on the left. I rigged a mounting bracket from stuff I got at home depot.

What length of braided hose did you use? Did you get that at home depot to?
It looks like the hose you use for plumbing (faucets). Couldn't you just tee them off at the opening if the hole by the oil pan, a/m on on the oil filter side and the oem one on the other, or not enough clearance?

3 feet SS braided hose. It's a high pressure hose from Autometer. 3AN is the size I believe. You could tee off by the oil pan but there isn't much room. The size of that oil pressure sender is huge too. I wouldn't want it to put all that weight on the fitting when it's not mounted to anything. The last thing you want is for the fitting to break and spill over oil all over the place.
