how did they know the letters were shaved off? if they can see evidence of it then look in the upper right of the trunk to see if there is evident of a GLE badge being there.

looks like an SE. Says its a SE its cheaper than a GLE

I don't know, but it's got 5 records in the CarFax database. Do the research and scan that ECU before buying!

EDIT: *cough* get a 5-speed *cough*

Ok i just got back from the dealership. I did not have enough time to drive it to my mechanic, but i did drive it myself. The car drives like a dream, but the suspension is much stiffer than my dads 2001 GXE. This 98 is a GLE by the way. I think the dealer was too lazy to go look at the back of the car. Overall, I loved the way it looked inside and outside. Im surprised, but i actually like the sawblade rims in person. The leather isnt as comfortable as my dad's cloth GXE seats, but its leather! All options besides heated seats, and they want $7500 OTD. 69,000 miles. I think thats a pretty damn good price, am i correct?

Its not autotragic, its automagic
(i'd rather have a 5 speed but i cant because i have not seen any in my price range and mileage range. Ive been looking for 5 months at least).

I listened to the engine, and there was a slight knocking. Between mid and high pitched. Please dont tell me that this sounds like the infamous Knock Sensor!

It's pretty obvious from the pics it's a GLE. Chrome door accents, 95-96 se(97-99) gle wheels. Leather and wood inside.

IIRC, the 95-98's don't have letters saying trim on the back of them.

Only the 99's do.

That 6950 is not includint all the taxes and crap like that. 7500 is out the door. The price is non-negotiable because they have about 5 more people who also want the car.

I don't have access to their records - you'll either have to pay the fee, get the dealer to pay for it, or find an .Org member with access.

Being from Cincy, I know how you feel about the search. There's tons of autos around, but manuals are tough to find. It took me a little over five months - Falhaber Nissan eventually scored on a trade-in for a 3.5 Altima. It was only the second manual I had found, and the first was beaten and bondo'd.... I couldn't settle for a semi-ragged out Max, so I held out for another three months until my '98 popped up.

EDIT: Five other people that want the car, eh? Sounds like a used car dealer to me....

i think its a pretty good price even without going down, considering it only has 69,000 miles and is in perfect coindition.

anybody know anything about that knocking sound?

they always say that to try and rush your decision, its a salesman trick, tell them you have 5 other people comming to look at it, now you want to hurry and decide so that someone else doesnt buy it.

oldest trick in the book.

I dont think faulty KS make sounds, if they do then maybe mine needs some changing

have you mechanic check it out, and anything he finds wrong with the car, get a $ amount for the repairs and have that subtracted from the final price.

97+ do, but from what I've seen the 97 only has badges if it's a GLE.

im almost certain that u can tell what it is by the vin #. I think in the stickies here someone it says how to decode the vin and i think it tells u what model it is.

It's a GLE. It has a badge, the dealers were too lazy to look at the back.
I got it checked out by the mechanic, and its perfect. Only thing wrong is the holder for the power antenna is broken. Paperwork is in progress. You can count it as me already having the car.

Finally a 4th gen of my own!
