Dont flame, I check the faqs and cannot find the answer to this. I am interested in buying another member's y pipe and want to make sure it will fit. The faqs say that in order to check if my car is cali spec that I should look at the line under the vin number and check if the 12th character is a V. It is, so my car is cali spec, but I think I remember reading that the y pipes are the same regardless of this fact. I also do not know if a 1996 will fit a 1995. I think that it should, but want to make sure before I buy. Anyone know for sure?

a cali spec pipe is much different from a fed spec pipe. definatly make sure they are both cali spec pipes.

Call Warpspeed and ask them. When I ordered mine they wanted to know the exact year and if it was Cali or Fed spec emissions.

FED/CALI Y-pipe only matters if you have a 1999 model year maxima. Any pipe for 95-98 or 99 FED spec will fit.
