You cannot add side airbags due to the airbag sensors and seats themselves, actually I take that back, yo ucan add he ariabgs but the amount of money you'd spend wouldn't be cost effective to just buying a car that already offers them...as for the heated seats, yeah that's totally possible, cost roughly $80 per sear to get done yourself though....hope this helps...

google.com can lead you to aftermarket heated seat kits, I'm sure.

i'm planning on doing the same thing on my 98 SE, it didn't come with heated seats or the srs airbag but the new seats will come with that option. Is our car prewired for the heated seat option or the SRS? Any more info would be appreciated, thanks.

You live in Texas, why do you need heated seats?

I too am curious as to whether I can just get heated seats off a gen 4 at a wrecker, if my car is pre-wired for heated seats. I would guess that all Maximas are pre-wired to take the option.

My car did not have the winter package installed as an option, but it has every single option outside of that. It is a 95 SE. Are the seats from a 97-99 compatible with 95-96?

I have considered the aftermarket heated seat kits, but I might be able to locate heated seats and just snap them in for a better deal than paying for the heated seat kit and then for my time and effort to install it all. But then there's also the issue of electrical wiring from the new OEM heated seats to where the switches should be, but do not exist in my car...

Any ideas?

I think the switches mount on center console right before the latch for the arm rest. I think you should have a coin holder in it's place now.

haha, good question! i dont really need them, but i was looking into upgrading to leather seats. coincidently they had the heated seat option. so i just figured i might as well wire'em up if they're avaliable! (plus i like my a$$ staying warm, hehe)

Yep that is correct. However I haven't popped off the coin holders (if they pop off) to check and see if there is pre-wiring under there so that I can just hook up a switch to it. Do you know?

If it wasn't -20 outside now, I'd go in to my garage and try to pop the cover off... lol

I have heated seats from a 96 I-30 (rear headrests too) and while my driver's side was wired for a power seat (had a power seat there before) the passenger side wasn't wired. My car wasn't wired for heated seats at all. I keep seeing the inquiries but no replies on exactly how to wire the heated seats. Does anyone know how to wire them? I have the switches, hell, had the seats since last summer but no heat. Anyone? I hope your 95 has the cold weather package or something, maybe it would be pre wired.

if max or i30 does not HSs from factory, then it's not pre-wired for it. You got to wire it yourself, which isn't really difficult.

I'm not so sure about that... at least when it comes to heated mirrors. My 95 Maxima SE does not have the cold weather package on it. However a couple of summers ago my side view mirror was ripped off (vandalism) and I was able to locate one at a wrecker - but this mirror was heated. When I took my original mirror housing off (which only had 1 wire for power), I noticed that there were 2 plugs behind - one of which was not connected. I was able to connect both plugs to my new mirror since it had both connections.

I am yet to test its functionality though.

As someone said earlier, if you have pre-wiring for heated mirrors, you will have pre-wiring for heated seats too. You just gotta get the heated mirror/seat itself... at least I hope that is the case with my seats too.

:o)

I searched for my perfect Maxima for literally 8 months because I wanted heated seats and side airbags (and pearl white on black and ABS and....). Litterally every Thursday when the new cars came out in the Autotrader, I would look. It took a lot of will power not to buy Maximas that 'almost' had all the options/colors I wanted. Anyway, it paid off. I now have my heated seats. But ask me if I ever use them here in Southern California??
