Engine Bay Photos (chariot is down but not dead)

Well after the initial shock of the chariot arriving all beat up, I decided to start cleaning up the max. In all the time I have owned this maxima (since: 1997) the car has never been this dirty.

I washed layers of dirt and grit off the car and under the engine bay. I must say I felt better after doing some cleaning on the max. The photos are nothing flash or special. If your maxima is stock (under tha hood) they may be worth a look. You can see the headers peeking out. Allow some time for them to appear if you are using a 56k dial up connection.

Engine Shots

Photo Backup: If the photos should turn up as x's just ease over to this link and check them out: http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/341792/5

For more information regarding the chariot getting trashed in shipping check out this post. There is a complete engine bay photo of all the stuff that was stolen: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=376104

Lucky you. I figured they don't because of population. Take advantage of that while it lasts. Do a straight pipe from the headers all the way back. Rip out the EGR system. You have endless posibilities now.

well back in the states castrol super clean mixed with water 50/50 is what i prefer. but this time i just took some tin foil and wrapped it around anything that didnt like water, and took a water hose and sprayed down the engine lightly. then i sprayed the engine over with Simple Green and took some towels and brushes and started scrubbing things down. after much of the dirt had been scrubbed off i took a bottle of amor all and sprayed a big mist of the stuff all over the hoses and engine and started wiping it down again. after this point of clean everything becomes very detailed, so i havent went there yet. but the results are nice by doing just this.
