InstALLED BOMZ CAI but ENGINE LIGHT CAME on!!!, have ***PICS***

i just finished to test drove my car but my freaken engine light came.
i made 1 big stupid mistake which i thought i didn't. i first started the engine w/o the maf sensor plug installed. so i guess that trigered it. after i noticed a spazed out, i plugged it back in and still came on. could this be the reason?
The 2 big hoses were a bi@atch to plug in cause there so hard to bend.

anyways, should i reset my ecu? i'm gonna go to advance tomm to also get readings but wanted an opinion from you guys first.
also is the filter sopose to be i guess this low cause i can see it if i lay down and its the highest it can go. i know ur filter has to be completely submerged for the car to hyderlock but is it okay if rain touches the filter?

here

RESETTING THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT

To reset the engine light is a simple procedure.

1. Turn the selector screw clockwise to its stop.
2. Wait 2 seconds.
3. Return back by turning the screw counterclockwise to its stop.
4. IMMEDIATELY REPEAT steps 1 to 3.

The next time you start your engine, the check engine light should go away!

hey put your stock mid pipe in instead of the bomz one and put the air temp sensor ( one in the bomz mid pipe) anywhere on the outside.

thanks but no thanks. after working on this thing for more than 3 hours, the only thing i'll prob touch or replace are the hoses cause there barely hanging on. the air temp sensor i just took the rubber piece off the stock mid pipe cause the one in the bomz was too hard to install, and took the bomz's out and replaced it with the stock.

sounds amazing though

lol you were suppose to but extra hoses, not use the stock one, its your setup but only reason i sugested is because i have the same cai on for 5 month then i read about ppl using the stock mid pipe so i decided to try it and i seems my engine breathes alittle better at lower rpm.

I used stock hoses as well.. me and g4 just know how to save a dollar =)

i used bomz hole for air temp tho.. by drilling two small holes very close to the bomz hole

would you happen to know what size (diameter) the two bigger hoses are that are going into the air system?

hey i thought about making a shield of some sort so it will prevent rain from touching it but i think just a little mist is okay. Custom maxima said they have a heat shield that can also be used as i guess for water. is this shield universal? i don't wanna drive during heavy rain and mess up my car.
the heat shield goes for $59

any ideas or other opinions?

Go to advanced auto....there is a set that is made by Mr. Gasket....its actually just hose cover...you cut it to fit then put the fake nuts on it. I think its costs about $50

the covers can be purchased as a set for 29-39 dependent on the store. Advanced was 29 last summer and Auto Zone was 39 for the same kit.
I have a length of braided hose im using on my car just have to have it cut and new ends. check hydraulic shops thats your best bet for pricing.

as well that injen heat shield is what i have, on my other car it did well in shielding the front from water but remember that in using that and facing it forward air goes around the outside of the shield and the filter has to actually suck to draw air in instead of the air stream hitting the filter directly.

in my old car it actually felt like it lagged with that on there. i still have it in my basement. it isnt in the best of shape but your welcome to it cheap if you want it.

alright, i decided that i'm just gonna leave the way it is cause i already spoke with brian of cattman and some guy from CM. brian said it should be fine as long as ur not getting really splashed at like a truck or something and so on. plus one of my friends said it shoud be good cause those filters are oiled, oil resists water, well as far as K&N but for the bomz filter, i dunno
