in your all opinions, what are the bext riding (comfort wise) lowering springs.

i just dont want to be bouncing all over the place...

to specify, i want to be going 1-1.5 inches down.

 

It's not so much the spring but rather the sturt that plays a very big part of ride comfort. H&R springs are amoung the best riding springs out there for the Maxima. Progress is a nice ride as well, and so are Eibach. They all have drops of about 1.5 inches.

The best riding strut is by far the Tokico Illumina. Couple any of the above springs with Illuminas and you'll have a really nice ride on a lowered setup.

according to what that site had to say, i'm kind of leaning toward the maxspeed ones. there are relatively inexpensive and they offer a decent, smooth ride.

I have a question, I have a question!! Before I order my suspension set-up, I'm definitely going with the Illuminas ( of course ), but my Max has a 5speed, and I hear the front end is lighter in a 5speed and the H&R springs don't lower the front end down enough. I was thinking about going with the Tokiko springs, maxmods, compares them to the H&R for having about the same ride quality, but better drop. Is this true? And I ONLY want to choose between the 2. Which ones shall I go with? Thanks for helping a boy out b-4 he orders wrong and ends up kicking himself in the a$$.

 

I have them paired up with gr2's and the ride is very comfortable and it's the cheapest set up. The maxspeed's are iso certified so there's really no issue about quality.

I absolutely love my Eibach's and plan on coupling them with Tokico Illumina's here in about 2 months.

probably a sweet ride, just a little on the $$$ side for me. im looking to go a little dinero-safe on this one, im kinda tight on cash but cant stand the 4x4 look, ya know?

it just doesnt sit right to pay 500 bucks to "properly" drop an inch.

 

I've got the Tokico kit on my 5-spd GXE and I like the ride and the drop! It did drop slightly more in the rear (1 5/8" front, 1 3/4" rear), but not the measured riide height is dead even. I think it looks good. I would post pics, but I can't get cardomain to work right now. PM me if you wart to see a pic.

 

Maxspeed springs are $99 bucks.

H&R's are about $225 bucks.

Somebody mentioned that Maxspeed springs are ISO certified. An ISO certification means your company's systems & procedures are documented and in place according to the ISO 9000/2000 standards. It does not mean your engineering department engineers and builds top performing products.

I've taken out many sets of rusted, cracked and misaligned sets of these cheap springs over the past few years that I've been doing suspension installs for org members. Some sets don't sit evenly in the spring perches which cause them to make noise over bumps, some have rusted so bad over a short period of time that they were tossed out when we took them out of the car. They are a cheap spring found on Ebay for as little as 90 bucks. Your springs are a very important part of your cars suspension performance. Spend a few extra bucks and purchase well engineered springs from a well know spring manufacturer. The overall ride quality & handling is very pronounced compairng a cheap spring to a well engineered spring.

 

a few extra bucks is over double though. i just cant seem the stray from the idea that all the springs are very similar, just a different claim about them to keep them somewhat "different". for example, i cant help but to think that tein and maxspeeds are the same as h&rs...

i dont know, i just want a very comfortable ride with a 1.5 drop, inexpensive. what do i need for that?

 

There are 4 of us MN guys that have the GR-2 set up with maxspeeds and we deal with all the elements up here, and not one of us have had a probelm.

Progress have a cheap finish on them that will rust. I don't think it should affect the performance though.

yah my friend had megan racing springs on his 03' madza 6 with stock struts and the drop looked very good and the ride was amazing....but i dunno on a max??

 

njmax knows what he is talking about. I personally have eibach's + Illuminas and they ride and handle great..

 

Progress springs have the best drop/ride combo IMO.
