ontop of that, clean/replace PCV, clean EGR. replace fuel filter with 300zx filter.
yes IAC is different fomr the PCV. its a plate behind hte manifold/TB. there is a write up and i think some pictures in the how-to section. PCV you wer better off just replacing, its so cheap anyways.
Also is there anything diagnostic in nature that would require going to a stealership? I trust they hook the car up to a computer - what do they do: adjust idle if necessary, air/fuel mixture etc. What about doing everything else and just taking it to the stealership for this purpose as well as any visual checks they do? Is it necessary to change the 2 belts ato 60,000 miles or should they last longer than this: alternator belt, air conditioner/compressor ?

no advantage except your time. itll last twice as long and costs teh same amount. if you have an abs system, then id only want to do that thing once cuz its a PITA

You can check your own ECU. Check the stickys. The Idle is not an issue if you idle around 650RPM.
The belts dont need to be changed unless they are worn. Check to see if there are any cracks or rips.
Thanks, yes I do have ABS. The car presently idles perfectly and I've never cleaned the TB, IACV, replaced PCV, nada - only the fuel filter once and have K&N air filter which is relatively new. Recently flushed rad and replaced transaxle fluid so I'm going to leave well enough alone for awhile I guess. The car runs like the day I bought it.
