Just kind of inherited a 97 Maxima. Good shape with 108k miles. Runs good, but I know that is has never been tuned up and it seems a little sluggish. Has had regular oil changes every 3k miles.

My questions are:

1. What all should be done to tune it up?
2. Does it have a timing chain or belt? Should it be replaced?
3. Any other suggestions to get this car in shape?

I am not much of a mechanic, but I can do basic stuff and can follow directions.

It has a timing chain, not timing belt. IDeally it hsould last you till the end of your car.
