i am having the possible same problem. Does urs usually happen at low speeds/1st gear? That is typical. If it is ur diff. bearings, that sucks. A common prob. with gen 4 are the bearings go way too soon and can be up to $1000+ to fix. There is tons of info in the FAQ sticky and i have even put a few posts up yesterday concerning that. Def. read the stickies...they will answer ur questions

Thanks That pic is old and it became winter since i put clear corners in and a custom grill and AE headlights n stuff i just have not got around to taking a new pic since all of that lol

Is there any thing i can do other than replacing all of the barings and shimming it right.... Can i put in a 6 Speed Maxima Tranny??

Otherwise im going to tackle the problem when spring hits I think ill Rip Her apart myself and do it then i can put in my new flywheel i have a ACT Clutch from Stillen and i had my flywheel lightend a bit when it was out.... but i have a New Lightend Flywheel so i can put that in when i have everything apart

replacing bearing a shimming it if I'm not wrong is the source of the problem.

I've heard 6 speed tranny isnt worth it, and some say our 5th gen trannies are stronger a pull better. just what I have been hearing. . .

Mine whines as your describing just in first gear. If i am at low speed in second it doesnt do it at all. Just in first gear. I was just told that first gear is always a noisier gear and that i should not worry about it. Any opinions?
