According to the Haynes shop manual, P1446 is defined as EVAP canister vent control valve closed.

I suggest you remove the vent control valve and clean it up. It's located right next to the canister just behind the left rear wheel. It's most likely full of debri and stuck in the closed position.

Should be an easy fix.

I got the same code a few weeks ago. Luckily the valve in question is really accessible (didn't even need to jack the car up to reach it).

I took out the old one, cleaned off the air openings and all electrical leads. I checked for obstructions in the air tubes and holes and found none. I threw on some di-electric grease on the electrical connection and reattached everything. I cleared my CEL a few times but it came back on almost immediately each time with the same code. At that point I just replaced the valve (got one from the dealership for less than $100). Once installed the CEL went away.

Good luck.
