Red line

Hi guys. I have maxima 99GLE. My car does not want to go up to 6500 rpm. It shifts gears at 5500 - 5700 rpm. Whats wrong??

why dont you put it in to first instead of D and shift it yourself if you want it to go higher

i know that i can shift by my self. but my car doesnt accelerates when it pass 5900rpm.

If nothing is wrong why it doesnt shift at 6400 or 6500 rpm??

I think you have to shift it manually.

Of course I wouldn't really know...5spd rules.

what are you talking about man? i dont think people understand that vauge of a question will the mevi help what? your shift points? your power? what? i suggest you LOOK in the faq section where all the answers your looking for lay...here ill make it easy for you click this http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=217001 now youre all set take an hour out and read every single post and youll know everything you want to know

thats normal... IF i race i switch in gears... then it goes up to 6500 rpm... but watch out driving on gears all day will leave your gas tank empty... oh yea... and turn ur overdrive off so it can go into 3rd gear.....

I drive mine like a manual...but sometimes when i put it in drive I get lucky and can hit 6,000 RPM

you guys are wierd, if you want to controll your darn rpm that it shifts at just go 1-2-D thats all there is to it...if not leave it in drive. i dont care what anybody says when i ran at teh track all night trying every differnt combo for my car going 1-2 at the limitor then 2-D at 6K which the delay makes it like 6200 was fastest
