transmission is died

My transmission just shifted its last shift. Now I need a transmission for my 96, its a 5spd. 1) dont know anywhere to look to get one, beside junk yards..2) I don't know if I have locking or non-locking differential. So can someone help me out on either or both of my questions. Thanks

you should rebuild it. a good experience. and it will last the lifetime of the engine and then some if done right. theres a write up on http://www.motorvate.ca/mvp.php

sorry to hear your tranny dies. . . . I mean died (sorry)

www.car-part.com get a 5th gen tranny (much stronger get a 2001), you have a non-locking tranny (open diff). If your doing clutch also get a 5th gen clutch good oem replacement and is stronger and better than stock 4th gen clutches

I went thru the same thing when I had to get my tranny replaced. gotta do it again and will get this setup also.

I would love to rebuild it myself, but I don't have the time. But I guess I'll just have someone rebuild it. Someone looked at it and said that a bearing in the tranny is bad. So..I don't. I'm bout to have like 2 other people look at it today and see whats going to go on.
