Anyone done this?

Has anyone removed the molding from the side of the car? No real reason I would do it other than for looks. I'm not quite sure if it would be better or worse though. I'm also unsure of what it looks like under there. Does anyone know if it's painted? I looked on cardomain, but didn't see any that had removed it after browsing through a few pages. Just curious

sand / grind down to bare metal then used a filler called Everglass, which is basically a mix of fiberglass strands and Bondo. Alot of filling and sanding. took quite a while to get the filler just right to blend with the arc of the doors.

then paint the whole car

Any chance you still have the molding's? Mine are all faded and one is cracked. We have the same color...I'd buy yours if they're in good condition.

Good job on the customization...that's some pretty major work and money.

I don't have them anymore, sorry. It's been 3 years, and they were cracked and faded anyway, which is why I chose to tear them off when I painted the car.
