well if u can get down on ur knees and pull up a little bit untill you see ball joint holding it in then get a long flat head put it on the connection and twist the screw driverit should pop out..

remove the screw from the corner lense. you're going to have to use a lil muscle to get the corner light out it will feel like your breaking it. but it is in there pretty good. also post a WTB in classifieds to get your self some new hood struts

I agree with Zipp more than azmaxipad - you have to find the ball socket. I tugged and tugged on mine and broke one bcz I wasn't hitting the sweet spot. Use a flashlight and shine it down in the gap, take a flathead and stick it in the connection, and twist.

plenty of people have the same problem with the hood. i snapped a peice of my corner light off, i superglued it back on, but you just hafta keep moving it around and trying different angles then you'll eventually get it out

i got the same issue too with the struts...i just use a long broom. Looks kinda ghetto but hey, it works. As for the corner light, that thing is a b!tch to get out.....keep trying man.
Edit: You can actually see in my sig on my left clearance light, there's a small chip....

i accually got pissed off with mine when my car was new and broke the d@mn piece holding the ball joint thing out on both lights. ended up going the next day and bought new ones. i hit the ball joint with some sand paper to sand the joint down. my corner lights havn't given me a head ache ever since.

I also had trouble with my corner lights on the Maxima when I wanted to change the bulbs from stock to orange. But within 10 minutes I got them both out, you just need to pull very hard, make sure your remove the screw on the top and just pull where the ball joint/socket is. Fortunetly, it is alot easier to put back in place once out. Good luck.

As for the hood struts the only reason why they aren't staying up is prolly becuase of the weather, when its really cold out the struts had a tendecey to loose pressure which makes them fall. Your best bet would be to just use a baseball bat or something to keep it up while your working, but in the summer time it should be fine.

Okay, the 99s must not have this silly ball and socket thing that's gettin everyones feathers ruffled. My corner light just has a lip built into the fender that the corner light slips behind, then the screw under the hood.

I remember when I had that problem switching my corner bulbs to amber. I actually broke the pasanger side ball socket. Itis now only held in place using the screw up top. Oh well. Little by little my car is getting "character". Thats how I keep from getting angry at the little things. LOL

That joint is a pain in the butt. Once you figure out how to get it out the first time, it should be real easy in subsequent efforts.
You don't have to pull, the EASIEST way by far is to remove the top screw, look inbetween the crack with a flashlight to find the ball socket joint, and then slide a 8" flathead screwdriver into the little crevice of the joint and TWIST the screwdriver handle so that it puts some pressure directly between the ball and socket. It'll pop right out. Using excessive force will almost always end up breaking something.
