Problems with the heat

I love my 99 Max, but it does one thing that annoys me. When I turn off the heat and drive, the heat just keeps coming in as if I didn't. It affects my milage too. I thought it was just my car, but my friend has a 96 Max and said he has the same problem. Does anyone know what I am talking about, and is there anything I can do to fix the problem? Thanks guys.

Hit the recirculation button. That will stop the air from coming in.
