Interior mods

is there a way to change the cloth interior color? die the seats and the carpet? or is it just easier to replace them. what about the ceiling? can the rubber strip adjacent to the ceiling and the pillars around the door jam be painted as well? what paint can be used if so?

It's possible to dye it but I hear it fades with time... or something to that extent. Anywho, some people have completly changed the interior colors by doing full swaps. There was a thread pretty recently where the person said it wasn't hard, just time consuming.

One thing I'm unsure of myself: Do you have to get new airbags too? I'm only guessing since you have to get a new steering wheel and dash.

if you do the dye, yea, it will fade in time. you could redo the headliner in vinyl and pull all the interior pillars out, take of that frabric and sand em really good, get em nice and smooth, paint em. they will look fiberglassed. redo the rear speaker deck too in fiberglass if you want, it just takes time and alot of sanding, then start on the console, dash... i will stop here. one other thing i did, i took off the door speaker covers and sanded em real good, they look like brushed aluminum now and they stand out more, its the cheapest mod i did.

if i can get the heated leather seats, are there connections in the center hidden in the center console somewhere? my old car had leather seats but not heated, and when i took the center console out there were connections for that option

Yeah.. when you put the two front seats totally forward, You'll see 2 screws on either side at the end of the middle console. Those are the only things that hold it on besides it sliding in to the front. When your in there, there's one clip that the stock seats are spliced into, not too many wires, pretty easy.

cool, i'll have to check it out before i start looking for the heated seats.

i know some options on maximas have special cloth seats, but they are heated. is there any advantage to that other than not having to constantly maintain the leather?
