It starts, it dies

My car hasnt been started in 2 days and its somewhat cold here, but i dont think its to the point of the engine freezing. When i first start the car, the rmps jump up to about 1.7k, and then jump down, the car chokes and dies. Tried it a few times with the same result. Then i just gave it a little gas on startup and it was fine. Idled at 1500 for a few minutes, then went down to 700-750. I turned it off, and started again. Rpms jumped up to 1700, went down, car choked, but then picked up rpms. My question is this: what could have caused the car dying over and over? My guess is it was cold, but ive never had trouble with a car not starting because its been in the cold for only 2 days.

or it could be your coolant temperature sensor, or your ecu screw if not set properly

parents gave money for this car, so not allowed to screw with it(touch the engine). I'll check the vacum lines tommorow though, but i dont think i'll be able to clean the throttle body.

Not sure where they are, but im just going to check all the lines because i have time. If i go to autozone for them to scan my ecu, will it tell if i need a new coolant temp sensor? If so, how much is it, and installation.
