JWT ecu question

Will a JWT ecu out of a auto 96 maxima work in a 98 manual maxima? If so then will it throw codes? Anyone with insight please post. Thanks.

it should work, but you'll get a crap load of codes, none which should affect performance tho..

Well it will most likely throw codes for the O2 sensor and the other things different between a 96 and a 98. Normally it would throw codes for the tranny but I am not sure if JWT could make it not throw them and I think they don't always send you the same ECU anyway. You can always take out the bulb or put a switch for the CEL wire. I do know that a manual car will run with an auto ECU. It will not work the other way around however.

will another JWT ecu work better on a 98? or is a 96 auto ecu as good as I can get (other than the 96 M/T)

Just be aware that the O2 sensor code is thrown because of a difference in voltage from 96 to 97/98 models.
