Yes, it does make a small ROAR in park. But, when you are driving - it's a different story!

Get a 3" hole saw and drill out 2 holes on the SIDE of the BOTTOM part of the air box. You could even cut the whole bottom of the air box off. Once you take the air box out of the engine bay you will understand where to drill the holes.

All you are doing is putting holes in the bottom of your airbox, its pretty self explanitory

I didn't take my battery out. It's just above freezing outside. You can see the holes good enough with the battery in there.

Picture #1: Taken from the driver's side of the car, up close to the hole. You can see the big hole in the front of the airbox. That hole is underneather the air filter. If you take apart your airbox/intake, this is easy to understand. This hole was made with a 3" hole saw. I drilled 2, 3" diameter holes and then one more to connect both holes. That made one big hole.

Picture #2: Taken from the driver's side of the car further away from the air box. Same as the first picture. Holes are cut directly behind the battery.

Picture #3: Taken from the driver's side of the car. Notice the 1.5" diameter hole in the fender side of the airbox. This hole is also underneath the air filter.

Hope that helped...

I have two audio clips of the Hacked Air Box Mod recorded from inside the car and above the air box. I can send them to anyone on AIM. I don't know where to post them. Both audio clips are taken while the car is in Park.

i wouldnt gut the whole airbox - then youre just suckin hot air of the engine block, which is obviously not beneficial or good. by drilling holes youre gonna get some hot air but i would try to minimize that by cutting on sides away from the block.

Yea, I know what you mean. But, the ROAR is phat.

I guess you can cut it anyway you want. I saw in another post someone cut the whole bottom part of the air box off. That's basically the same as a Short-Ram intake but without a Cone filter. I don't see how mine is any worse than no air box at all.
