Back-up lights dont work PLEASE HELP!

Back-up lights dont work PLEASE HELP!

My back-up lights are not working. I dont know if there is a fuse for it, if there is I cant find it. Can someone tell me what could be wrong with it?

CHeck if bulbs didn't blow, check the fuse, also check reverse position sensor if you are 5sp.

try a fuse under the steering wheel. The fuse is labled "meter" and is red 10A. check that one. This one controls your back up light and gauges.

Thanks for telling me, I checked both the bulbs and the "meter" fuse and it's niether one. I guess it's the reverse position sensor because I am a 5sp, or can it be anything else?

Yea, have that one checked. Did you by any chance changed oil in your tranny before it happened?

yeah, get that reverse sensor checked. i used to have the same problem. went to autozone and got one for like 30 bucks. changed it and it was fixed.

my reverse lights dont work either. my fuse is fine, the bulbs are fine and i have a brand new reverse position sensor. i have no idea whats wrong with mine.

No I did'nt, but I dont know if my uncle did. You see, this car was given to me(gift) from my uncle.

Oh, you got yours changed! I just bought one but I need some help, could you tell me where it is located exactly and how to replace it?

Thing is that some guys in order to drain the oil from tranny unplug the reverse position sensor, since sometimes it is hard to get or unscrew the drain bolt. Behind reverse position sensow is a switch, which may accidentally be drained together with oil. If you loose the switch, you loose backup lights.

is this switch connected diorectly to the RPS? can it easily fall out when draining the tranny? do you know the name of the switch or a part number?

what is RPS? Yes it can, if you take sensor out. I don't know part number.
