Emissions Inspection
Ok my Overall Test Result FAIL!
Because my vehicle didn't not pass inspection becuase the on-board computer is Not Ready to determine the status of the pollution control systems on the vechicle.
Okay my only promble with that is i've found a hose unpluged from my M.A.P sensor. I've put the hose back on the sensor and reset my ENGINE SERVICE LIGHT. What do they mean its not READY?

Well, you failed because you reset the light too late. What I mean is that you probably reset the ECU within a couple days before the test, am I right? I've said numerous times that the ECU needs a week or so to be ready for emissions between the time you reset it and the time of the test.

Clearing error codes by means of the screw on the side of the ECU only clears stored error codes. It does not erase stored engine operating parameters. That fact can be found in the service manual.
A garage that is certified by the state to inspect or reinspect your vehicle can fix the problem that caused you to fail and reinspect your vehicle after repairs are made, the same day. No time is needed between erasing stored codes and having your cars emissions inspected. However, you cannot simply erase an error code without fixing the problem and pass state inspection either. The diagnostic port will see a problem before the CEL is turned on. That will report the result "not ready" after a scan causing you to fail. Our cars ECU will see errors, but will not record or turn the CEL on until it see's the error happening repeatedly. A scanner will pick these hidden errors up. Your ECU must also be in open loop mode, reading sensor values rather then running on a mapped program. Engine must be completely up to operating temperature.

How much do you wanna bet? I had my emmisions done a few months ago. I reset my ECU a few hours before the test cause I fixed the faulty EGR solenoid. I made three 5 mile trips and the CEL didn't come back on meaning the problem was fixed. I drove to the inspection site and the test showed that ECU is not ready. The operator asked me if I reset the ECU in the past few days and I said yes. He said to come back in a couple days, I did, but the ECU wasn't ready. So a week later I show up and the ECU is finally ready and I pass. I'm not saying you're wrong or that I'm right but how can you explain that?

Thanks Dave i'm did rest my ECU five min before i took it too the emission. I'll go back in about a week. I know why it was showing the error and i've fixed the problem.
I'll check back in about a week from today.
Thanks again
