Want impresion on KYB GR-2 with Stock SE Springs

I have some dificulty to make a decision between HP blue and KYB GR-2.
My car is a family car, and i drive other people often but i want a more controled suspension on stock spring, because i simply cannot lower the car.
The car is curently Stock with SE springs and the struts have 85k miles on them.
The roads here at Montreal are like a Battle field.

So here the question
For those with HP Blue : How the ride comfort?

For those with KYB GR-2 : How the ride comfort?

Thanks for the help

I just purchased some GR2's and I have a 96 SE. Once I get them installed I will let you know. I have stock rims and a stock setup.

Tokico HP's are the original equipment, the GR-2's are 15% stiffer.

They will definately firm up the ride a bit more then stock.
It wount be a harsh ride, just nice and tight.
If thats what your after then go with them.
The Blues will give you a soft luxury car ride.

lets put it this way, I had KYB AGX (set to 4) with stock springs in the back and compared to Intrax springs with stock struts they were very very stiff. I mean crazy differnce. Struts play a HUGE roll in ride quality and the GR-2 will add a noticable amount of stiffness.

My stock struts were blown when I took them out at 87k so my guess is yours are blown too. This means that just getting new OEM struts (HP) will yeild in a stiffer ride. If you have the money go with the adjustible Illuminas. Then you can dial in the ride you want.

if your running stock springs, and stock wheel/ tire combo, i dont think anything you put on there is gonna create a ride that your gonna dislike. imo, for you, the adjustables may be overkill. alot of money to spend just to replace stock struts with a stock suspension.. id just go with any regular non adjustables.. even kyb's will be fine in your application. when you start putting in lowering springs, bigger rims, and summer tires, is when id consider spening about 700 to buy adjustables and get them installed..
