hey i want to wire my LED License Plate Screws In the rear and a way which it would come on with the Brake Lights when i hit use the brakes, BUT...also want to wire it to the signal lights so that it blinks with the signals when i use it. Is it possible to wire it in that combo to use as a brake & Signal? all input would be appreciated.. Info on LED License Plate Screws: it has 2 wires ground and positive. Thanks

I think its cool that he has his own individual idea, and this is a place where you can learn from people. This isnt a place where your ideas are looked down upon. My .02

splice your positive wire from the led to the tail light (brake light) positive wire and splice the negative from led to the signal light positive. there should be three wires going to your tail-light, you have to find which one is for brake light.Originally posted by Vudoo1313

Look at this. You'll need a DPDT relay for each side. You'll need to run wire from both the turn signal positive and the brake positive. The relay is a switch that moves the source of current from the turn signals or the brake lights.
If you have brakes on and not turn signals, your signal will come from the brake lights. If your signal is on, it will come from the signal.
You'll need two relays. One for the L and one for the R.

Yeah, that'd work. I like it!Originally posted by 1Phat Max

Wait a sec, I just thought of something. These are DIODES and not bulbs, right? LEDs will not light up with current going either way, they need current to flow one way only.Originally posted by JacksMax

Vudoo, of you have em handy, try this test: Hook one up to 12V and ground just temporarily, and see if it lights, now reverse the + and -, still lights? If so, never mind!
If not, then maybe my mod above is what you want. It never occured to me that LEDs like thier current all in one direction, the mod I proposed would do that.
Good luck either way!

Hey Thanks for heads up jacksmax, i try that first to see if it works and let you know what happens. If I do need the DPDT relay that you said where could i get that? Thanks.Originally posted by JacksMax

Radio Shack should have em. I don't know the part number, but look for the cheapest DPDT relay they have since the current draw on it will be minor.Originally posted by Vudoo1313

"Is this supposed to be cool or something."
Yeah! Why don't you do something original like putting those cheap looking clear markers or brake lights on your car. Everyone will think your cool then!!
*Dripping Sarcasm*
I like the idea... just on the basis that he came up with it himself which is more than I can say for most of the people I see on the road driving "modded" cars...
