This is a really basic question - is it alright to drive with this light on steady? What I mean is could I wait till the weekend to bring to car in or am I screwed? The light just came on last night after driving all day (yeah in the snow) as I was parking for the night.

What really sucks is my inspection is up in 3 weeks so I have to get it looked at really soon.

im sure it depends on what problem youve got. do you have any symptoms?? anything showing signs of something wrong?
i think most of the people reading would give you advise to fix it asap for the life of your car and to get ur codes and they should tell you what's wrong. anybody elseeee?

 

goto autozone and have them scan it for you. its most likely an emissions issue. but you need to go and find out.

 

Check the codes yourself.

Then you can determine the severity of the problem.
