Speedometer not working

Sometime my speedometer doesn't work right away when my car starts. It will then only start to work when I get up to 50-60 MPH. Anybody ever run into this?

what year is your car?

you most likely need a new speedometer head. Happened to me when I bought my car, speedo was working every now and then, that was the case. the part was about $150 from dealer if your is an analog, more for digital.

I dont know how to install had the dealer do it, this was my pre-org days so I didnt know much about cars let alone the max at the time.

Call your dealer and describe what is going on, and they should be able to acurately tell you which part you need.

- So your saying that it should fix itself if I peg the speedometer? I did hit 110 mph last week when I was late for work.

Does it jump up and down sporaticly sometimes? Mine did this for a while until it gave out completely. Turned out to be the speed sensor, 50$ and really easy to change.
