Finally and as promised, pics of my car lowered!!! (56k watch out)

I finally have photos of my Maxima to share with you guys. As some of you know, I have recently lowered my vehicle. Let me emphasize that I am not excessively heavy on modifications to my car, but there were just a few things I had to do, one of which was eliminating the 4x4 look
Yeah, the car is dirty. But it's too cold to wash and I cannot resist showing it off a little.

Anyway, here's what I have recently done:

1) Installed Tokico illuminas with mzmtg's rear mounts and KYB dustboots
2) Installed H&R sport springs
3) Installed Brembo slotted only rotors
4) Installed new OEM brake pads (front/back).
5) Shaved the rear
6) Painted trunk keyhole black
7) Had new Nissan Maxima OEM muffler installed along with a 4" SS tip from 2kracing.com welded at the end.

Other things I've had for a while now:
- Shortened shift lever with MOMO ****
- Red/clears in the rear
- PIAA xtreme white bulbs in fogs and 100w Farenheit (truly, crispy white) bulbs in headlights
- rewired fogs
- upgraded headlight sockets

I would recommend H&R paired with Illuminas to anyone. The drop is perfect for me, not too low and not high at all. Ride quality couldn't be better. Car handles like a dream, honestly! Also, brembo slotted rotors work great paired with OEM pads. Finally, I believe that the OEM muffler with the tip welded on came out pretty darn sexy. I love the look, and it's completely quiet, just like stock! I hate the noise other performance mufflers make, just too loud IMO.

...Suggestions? Feedback? Feel free to comment. Thanks

p.s. I'm not a fan of clear corners, don't ask why... Had them and took them off. IMO black maxima looks best with amber corners in the front.

Nice job.rotors look good. you must be the first to have 4" tip welded to the stock. Does it sound better? I agree with Nismo14 that it probably would sound the same especially if you still have the stock cat back, and definately if you still have the stock y-pipe.

But Looking good

Nice! I also have a 99SE-L 5 speed. I was definitely going with the Illuminas but was torn between the H&Rs and the Tokiko springs. You have a 5 speed and the drop looks good. I hear that the Tokiko springs are roughly the same stiffness as the H&Rs, but a little lower drop. But seeing your car with the Illuminas and H&Rs, it looks good to me...... Yours is a 5 speed right? It's kind of hard to tell in that pic.
Thanks man
Jeff

Very nice... Dumping it into the weeds looks mean, but not very practical. I like the subtle drop and I'm sure corning has gotten a lot more fun. Can't wait to get mine done.

Did only 99 SEs come with that black pop out drawer under the stereo instead of the flip down lid? Anyway that exhaust tip looks really nice, fits the car really nice, good choice. Car is off to a good start

umm sure maxima boy... haha

Armani how come you havnt come out to any meets??? check the damn upper midwest forum!!!

your drop looks sweet, but you have verified for me that h&r springs do sit a little higher on the 5spds, because of the weight diff of 5spd and auto's giving us 5spd maximas an un even looking drop, i dont know if the springs just need to settle or something, but i remember reading this in another thread. i think im gonna go with h-techs or tokico springs

once again your car looks nice!

Yeah, I love this setup. It gives me everything I want. A friend at my work has a little lower drop on the same exact car and personally I like mine more.

Also, H&R springs make for a comfortable ride. Honestly, sometimes I CANNOT tell the difference between the setup I'm running and the stock one in terms of comfort.

And now to answer all your questions regarding the tip. For a long time I have debated on whether to get a performance muffler or not. IMO 4" tips look best. I used to have a performance muffler on my Accord back in the day and I hated it. Couldn't take the noise after a while.

Here's a little secret guys: Some of you may not know this, so here it comes... The deep tone/noise made by performance mufflers is NOT entirely caused by the muffler itself. I would say that 1/5, maybe 1/4 of the sound is made by the actual tip!

That's why I love this new setup. It is still very quiet, exactly like stock. BUT, when you listen in or accelerate hard, you can hear the tip very, very slightly, like 1/5 or 1/4 of the sound of every performance muffler out there. I think it has something to do with that little bit of sound from the back of yes, even the stock muffler, bouncing off the thin walls of the 4" SS tip. Trust me guys, I would recommend this setup to anyone. Looks bad a$$ to me.

Drop is nice. On the mudflap topic, when was the last time you cleaned behind them? It gets pretty dirty and stuff builds up behind them.

I disagree. I want mudflaps on my car bad. The bottom of it gets dirty after 5 mins of driving it.

mud flaps are there for a reason. Also, they make the car look better IMO. I never cleaned the mudflaps and never will. A little dirt here and there and my car looks JDM

Guys, I specifically wrote in the first post that I don't like clear corners. I had them on and now it's back to amber. AMBER = JDM

To those who don't like amber corners: It's a JDM thing, you wouldn't understand.

I like clears with amber lights
anyways nice lookin ride so far, all that's missing is some sweet *** 18 inch wheels. Also the gap isn't all that bad once you get bigger wheels it'll look better.

i know 95's have the drawer too.. Mine does.. I have a 95 SE Max fully loaded.. Nice drop tho.. I like it. Like a couple people said. Change out the ambers and your fine. Personally, I would agree with triz and keep the mudflaps. I live in boston and it gets pretty ugly uphere. Just be sure to clean em once in a while and they'll stay subtle... Keep it up!

Great Job, man, the car is looking great.

Some people actually like the amber bumper lights over the clears. To each his own.

amber /= JDM

Amber = OEM
