don`t know if i`m in the right forum, but i have a problem with my 98 auto tranny, when i come to a stop at a light the tranny stays in 4th gear, and when i take off it doesn`t gear down unless i really give it gas! and also if i floor it from stand still it switch from 1 to 2 fine but it stays in second until redline then waits about 5 seconds before switching to 3 if anyone can help thanks.

 

You can try checking the transmisson codes.
The Haynes repair manual will tell you how.
