Loud squeeling noise...just replaced belts

Just this weekend I replaced my water pump and since I had to take the fairly old drivebelts off, I decided to replace them. Now every time I start my car up there's a loud squeeling noise that doesn't stop and get louder as you rev the engine up... I've been adjusting the tension for the past 2 days with no luck.. took it to merchants and the guy said, it could be the pulley or the tensioner because it wasn't tensioning corrctly. So I go to the nissan dealership and pay $80 for a new pulley tensioner, and work on tighening/loosening it all day with no luck.... Sometimes the car would start up and run for about 5 mins fine, but then start squeeking.. what could be the problem???

Did you loosen the nut on the idler pulley first?
